Q: What is an affirmation?

A: An idea, thought or stated, as though it were true.

Q: What do affirmations do?

A: They deepen faith in the stated idea, regardless of whether it is true.

We are constantly affirming the conditions of our life, although we are not always aware of it. Frequently, we affirm the exact opposite of what we desire. For instance, when we think or say, “Nothing good can come from this,” our thoughts and words actually close our minds to opportunities that lie within the situation. Consequently, we cannot take advantage of them.

Every thought creates a corresponding emotion; therefore, our thoughts and words play an enormous role in encouraging or discouraging us in any endeavor.

It is not power we lack; it is awareness of it. When we are faithful in affirming ideas that inspire and empower us—and faithful to eliminate ideas that discourage us—we can literally change the direction of our life and find the success we desire.

Heal Your Mind and Comfort Your Soul

The mind is the forming place of all health, happiness and prosperity. The thoughts and beliefs of every individual have an immediate and absolute impact upon the quality of life because all are created in the image and likeness of God.

  1. God is not a separate Being but the love that flows between us.

  2. The miraculous power of love is constantly creating miracles we fail to see.

  3. The mind is a fertile field, its soil richly blessed and eternal; within it all things grow.

  4. Peace and fear cannot co-exist, but we have the power to exchange one for the other.

  5. Peace will come when we stop clinging to our problems as though they were treasures.

  6. The past cannot return; the future cannot arrive. Now is the only time we have, but it is eternal; within it all power exists.

  7. At all times and in all situations, Divine Intelligence extends many hands to help, guide, and comfort us.

  8. The indwelling Presence is not tarnished or diminished by our mistakes.

  9. We have faith enough to move mountains, but we are using it to believe we can’t or shouldn’t move them. Whether placed in God or the size of the mountain, faith is always powerful.

  10. We are limited only by our imagination.

  11. We have everything to give and nothing to lose because the Giver is within. We may momentarily lose sight of this truth, but we cannot lose the Giver.

  12. Words have life and power; use them only to bless, comfort, and encourage.

  13. Look for love in every situation and circumstance. Where you do not see it, put it there.

  14. The Divine Mind is a loving Creator; we co-create with it. It turns our invisible thoughts and desires into physical realities.

  15. We are the givers of love and peace or the makers of fear and war. Ignorance of this creates all our conflicts.

  16. The mind is free to see in all directions—to look at blessings or problems—but it can only look in one direction at a time.

  17. We choose what we want to remember and what we want to forget. Why choose to remember grief and pain when happy memories are just as easily recalled?

  18. No one else can think our thoughts or create our feelings unless we are willing to let them. Even then, we are responsible for the letting.

  19. If we look backward into the past, or too far forward into the future, we will stumble in the present and never get where we want to go.

  20. Guilt, anger, and fear create pain, sickness, and attack—effects we do not want. Only love is effective because it creates the effects we want.

  21. Our words, thoughts, and beliefs are empowered by the Presence within. When we truly believe this, miracles will be natural responses.
